BATON ROUGE, LA — City-Parish offices will be closed on January 1st in observance of the New Year’s holiday. There will be no curbside garbage, recycling or out-of-cart services on New Year’s Day. Garbage and recycling collection will resume on the residents’ next regularly scheduled collection day. Out-of-cart services for residents with Monday collection will be serviced on Saturday, December 30th.
In addition, the North Landfill will be closed on New Year’s Day. The Republic Services recycling drop-off center, located at 7933 Tom Drive, operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and will continue to accept recyclables during the holidays.
BREC is accepting Christmas trees at various locations for recycling. More information can be found on their website at https://www.brec.org/calendar/detail/live-christmas-tree-recycling/9651. Christmas trees will also be collected at the curb on the residents’ regularly scheduled out-of-cart collection day.
