Headline: Rep. Garret Graves comments on airport incident and social security bill

Rep. Garret Graves, a U.S. Congressman representing Louisiana’s 6th district, has recently shared his thoughts on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Graves, who succeeded Bill Cassidy in 2015 and has served in Congress since then, expressed his concerns regarding an incident at Reagan National Airport and addressed legislative matters concerning the Social Security Administration.

On January 30, 2025, Rep. Garret Graves commented on an incident at an airport he frequently uses: "Having flown in/out of that airport at least several hundred times (including the “short” runway), this never should have happened. The skills and technology are there to prevent this kind of disaster. We must do better."

In another tweet on the same day, he expressed condolences for those affected by the event at Reagan National Airport: "Such a tragic and sad event at Reagan National Airport. Carissa and I extend our prayers and sympathy to the victims, their families and friends. The first responders’ efforts under very difficult circumstances are greatly appreciated."

Later that day, Rep. Graves addressed an issue related to the Social Security Administration: "We told the Social Security Administration that this bill would make it the distance. They should have been prepared to stop victimizing teacher, firefighters, police officers and others by further delaying this 40-year injustice."
