Graves emphasized the importance of prioritizing local needs in federal disaster funding and highlighted efforts to address imbalances in resource management.

On November 25, 2024, Rep. Garret Graves expressed concerns about national priorities regarding disaster resilience funding. He stated, "In Louisiana, we take storm resilience seriously—our communities self-invest in protection. But nationally, we’re falling short on priorities. FEMA must focus on our own citizens first when allocating taxpayer dollars. It’s time to fix this disparity."

Later that day, Graves announced a collaborative effort with another representative to address resource management issues in the Gulf of Mexico. He tweeted at 20:58:41 UTC, "I teamed up with colleague @RepTroyCarter to fix an imbalance in Gulf of Mexico resource management."

At nearly the same time, he discussed the benefits of energy production and fisheries management for Louisiana's coastlines and ecosystems.
