Iberville Parish Education: 2,981 Black students were enrolled in schools in 2023-24 school year

There were 2,981 Black students enrolled in Iberville Parish schools in the 2023-24 school year, 0.7% less than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Data showed that Iberville Parish welcomed 4,475 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, Black students comprised 66.6% of the student body to be the most represented ethnicity in the parish.

Among the 10 schools within the parish, Iberville Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of Black students in the 2023-24 school year, with a total of 637 students.

Louisiana's educational performance is among the lowest in the nation, according to a WalletHub analysis. The state was ranked 47th overall, based on factors such as class size, student performance, funding, school safety, and teacher qualifications.
