Enrollment at Zachary Community School District schools increased by 0.1% compared to previous school year

There were 5,503 students enrolled in Zachary Community School District schools in the 2021-22 school year, 0.1% more than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Out of the total students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 50.8% of them were boys, and 49.2% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were Black or African American, representing 55.2% of the Zachary Community School District total enrollment.

Zachary Community School District covers approximately seven schools within East Baton Rouge Parish, with its main office in Zachary.

Among the seven schools in Zachary Community School District, Zachary High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,619 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The majority of Louisiana students were identified as white and Black, representing 48% and 37% of the state student body respectively during the 2021-22 academic year. Hispanic students made up 8.6% of the student body, and other ethnic minorities made up 5.6%.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
