BRAC Releases Mississippi River South Bridge Facts

9

BATON ROUGE, La. (May 11, 2022) — The Baton Rouge  Area Chamber (BRAC) today released a digital information hub on the new  Mississippi River South Bridge and I-10 connectors to complete a south  loop/bypass. The hub houses information on the Louisiana Department of  Transportation & Development’s (LaDOTD) South Bridge Project,  including descriptions of connector routes, costs and funding, the  timing and process, plus more. The page can be accessed at brac.org/bridge.

“A new Baton Rouge Area bridge is finally a near-term opportunity,  and we want the community to be informed on the process,” said Adam  Knapp, president and CEO of BRAC. “Addressing the Capital Region’s  transportation crisis is not solely a business priority; it is a  community-wide issue that drains area commuters of time and money. With a  new bridge closer to reality than ever before, we want our communities  to have the facts on project pace, funding goals, and the next steps.”

The digital hub seeks to answer the community’s repeated questions on  the plausibility of a new Mississippi River Bridge. Through facts,  research, and solidified timelines, the hub details the tangible  progress of a new bridge.

BRAC is regularly updating brac.org/bridge with the latest information.
