74 percent of applicants to Louisiana State University and Agricultural & Mechanical College were admitted for fall 2018

At Louisiana State University and Agricultural & Mechanical College, 95 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 53 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Baton Rouge enrolled 30,983 students in fall 2018, including 25,233 in undergraduate and 5,750 in graduate programs, data shows. 2.9 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

77 percent of undergraduates are residents of Louisiana, and 22 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (70 percent) and Black or African American (13 percent).

The school admitted 74 percent of the 24,280 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 32 percent enrolled.
