Enrollment Analysis: Black students comprised 55.8% of Pointe Coupee Parish's student body in 2023-24 school year

There were 1,361 Black students enrolled in Pointe Coupee Parish schools in the 2023-24 school year, 5.3% less than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Data showed that Pointe Coupee Parish welcomed 2,437 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, Black students comprised 55.8% of the student body to be the most represented ethnicity in the parish.

Among the five schools within the parish, Livonia High School recorded the highest enrollment of Black students in the 2023-24 school year, with a total of 482 students.

Louisiana's educational performance is among the lowest in the nation, according to a WalletHub analysis. The state was ranked 47th overall, based on factors such as class size, student performance, funding, school safety, and teacher qualifications.
