The Moon will reach its full phase on November 15, 2024, at 21:30 UTC (3:30 PM in Baton Rouge). During this time, the Moon will be on the opposite side of the Earth from the Sun, resulting in its face being fully illuminated.
This particular full moon is traditionally called the Beaver Moon by early Native American tribes. The name originates from the period when beaver traps were set before winter froze swamps and rivers. It is also referred to as the Frosty Moon or Dark Moon.
Additionally, this event marks the last of three supermoons for 2024. A supermoon occurs when the Moon is near its closest approach to Earth, appearing slightly larger and brighter than usual.
