There were 80 white students enrolled in Special School District schools in the 2021-22 school year, 9.1% less than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Data showed that Special School District welcomed 151 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, white students comprised 53% of the student body to be the most represented ethnicity in the district.

Special School District roughly covers schools within East Baton Rouge Parish and has a main office in Baton Rouge.

Among the 15 schools in Special School District, Pinecrest Supports & Services Center recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of 52 students.

The majority of Louisiana students were identified as white and Black, representing 48% and 37% of the state student body respectively during the 2021–22 academic year. Hispanic students made up 8.6% of the student body, and other ethnic minorities made up 5.6%.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
