There were 173 Black students enrolled in LSU Laboratory School School District schools in the 2021-22 school year, 25.4% more than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Data showed that LSU Laboratory School School District welcomed 1,451 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, Black students comprised 11.9% of the student body to be the second most represented ethnicity in the district.

LSU Laboratory School School District roughly covers schools within East Baton Rouge Parish and has a main office in Baton Rouge.

LSU Laboratory School was the only school in the district which enrolled Black students, welcoming 173 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The majority of Louisiana students were identified as white and Black, representing 48% and 37% of the state student body respectively during the 2021–22 academic year. Hispanic students made up 8.6% of the student body, and other ethnic minorities made up 5.6%.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
