BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) has announced the inaugural Economic Inclusion Symposium will be held on Aug. 18.
The conference will replace BRAC’s Diversity and Business event with additional features such as a presentation from DOW’s Corporate Director of Sustainability, a vendor showcase that gives minority business owners the opportunity to network, and a fire side chat. The purpose of the symposium is to spark conversations increasing the economic inclusion in the workplace.
“We are excited that BRAC’s traditional Diversity in Business event is expanding into a half-day symposium. Economic inclusion encompasses more than just workplace diversity and inclusion practices. The new event format will cover all topics of economic inclusion and how a committed, community approach to inclusivity can increase the entire region’s economic vitality,” said BRAC’s Diversity and Inclusion Council chair, Jerry Lebold.
BRAC will be announcing the recipients of the BRAC Diversity Star Award.
The event will begin at 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Raising Cane’s River Center. Registration is required for this event and prices are set at $65 for BRAC investors and $80 for non-investors.
