BATON ROUGE, La. (April 28, 2022) — The Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) today announced the formal launch of its small business services program. Led by a new, permanent position on the BRAC staff, the program will connect the region’s small businesses to resources, information, and networks to grow.
“To diversify the Baton Rouge Area’s industry base and job opportunities, we know our focus cannot solely be on big project wins,” said Adam Knapp, president and CEO of BRAC. “By investing in our small businesses with our new services, we will provide long-term guidance to local entrepreneurs and existing businesses, ultimately helping them level up and increase growth opportunities in the region.”
The program, led by Chris Spalatin, BRAC’s manager of small business services, will serve as a guide and connector for local entrepreneurs and small business owners to Baton Rouge’s small business ecosystem, providing often-needed support and navigation through the intricacies of business ownership. Specific assistance ranges from small business coaching to market research to guidance on becoming a vendor and landing contracts, plus more. BRAC services are completely free and available to any entrepreneur or small business owner in the nine-parish Capital Region.
Individuals interested in the services are encouraged to reach out to Chris directly at christophers@brac.org or (310) 463-0917. Additional information can be found at brac.org.
The launch of this program is a key component in BRAC’s five-year strategic plan, BRING IT!, under its goal to diversify the region’s industry base and job opportunities. Additional information about the strategic plan can be found at brac.org/bringit.
