Cost of college was unchanged for all students at Baton Rouge Community College

In-state tuition and fees were unchanged for 2018-19 at Baton Rouge Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Louisiana residents paid $4,221 to attend the two-year public institution in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Non-residents paid 96.6 percent more than residents this year, or $8,299. Their price tag was unchanged from $8,299 in 2017-18.

About 97 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Louisiana residents. About 1 percent are residents of other states and 2 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 87 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 977 students received grants or scholarships totaling $5.2 million and 341 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.8 million.

Including all undergraduates (8,242), 5,004 students used grants or scholarships totaling $21 million, and 2,435 students took out $15.1 million in federal student loans.
