Southern University defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff 16-15 on Apr. 26 at Lee Hines Stadium, completing a weekend sweep and extending its winning streak to ten games.
The Jaguars’ victory moves them into sole possession of fourth place in the Southwestern Athletic Conference standings. The team overcame a seven-run deficit late in the game, with a six-run rally in the seventh inning and a go-ahead home run in the eighth.
Jacoby Radcliffe hit a bases-clearing triple during Southern’s comeback, while Ryan Hunter delivered a two-run homer to give Southern the lead for good. Five Jaguars recorded multi-hit games as Southern collected 17 hits overall. Jaylon Lucky led all players with five runs batted in, and Kameron Byrd contributed three hits and four runs scored.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff built its lead by scoring multiple runs across four different innings but was held scoreless over the final two frames by Southern’s bullpen. The game featured a combined total of 31 runs and 33 hits between both teams.
The Jaguars will play next on Tuesday evening against the University of Louisiana at 6 p.m., with live streaming available on ESPN+.
