The LSU Tigers women’s golf team finished the first round of the Clemson Invitational on Mar. 27 with a team score of 7-over par 295, led by sophomore Rocio Tejedo’s performance of 1-over par 73 at The Reserve at Lake Keowee in Sunset, South Carolina.
The tournament saw LSU end the day in fourteenth place after eighteen holes. Vanderbilt led the field with a score of thirteen-under par (275), followed by Florida at nine-under (279) and Arkansas at seven-under (281).
Tejedo recorded three birdies on her final nine holes to shoot one-under on that stretch, helping her secure a tie for thirty-fourth place among eighty-eight competitors. Taylor Riley, Elsa Svensson, and Francesca Fiorellini each posted rounds of two-over par (74). Svensson made one of only five eagles during the opening day on the course’s fifth hole, while Riley and Fiorellini notched three and four birdies respectively.
Lynn Lim from Vanderbilt led all individuals after posting a nine-birdie round for a score of sixty-three. Olivia Dunn from Princeton followed closely behind with sixty-four. Among other notable performances for LSU, Lucia Iraola was tied for second in total pars with fifteen.
The second round is scheduled to begin Saturday morning, with LSU teeing off from hole ten at nine o’clock Central Time. Live scoring updates are available online.
