He acknowledged the residents of Lafourche and Terrebonne Parish for their self-funded billion-dollar storm protection system that helped avert disaster. “Hurricane Francine was a reminder of the power of preparation.”

Later that day, Rep. Graves reiterated his commitment to fighting for Louisiana’s interests until the very end. Reflecting on past disasters like Hurricane Katrina nearly two decades ago, he emphasized the importance of vigilance to prevent future losses in the state. “As I’ve stated since June, we are running through the tape.”
