Rep. Garret Graves, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Louisiana’s 6th district, has recently shared his views on several topics through a series of tweets. His statements address environmental issues, political appointments, and cabinet nominations.

On November 21, 2024, Rep. Graves discussed the impact of the Mississippi River Basin Study (MBSD) on saltwater intrusion in Louisiana. He used hashtags to emphasize the relevance to state legislation and governance: “#MBSD impact on saltwater intrusion. #lalege #lagov”.

The following day, November 22, 2024, he expressed strong support for President Donald Trump’s nomination for Attorney General. Graves praised Pam Bondi’s past work with him on the Deepwater Horizon incident: “This is the best AG nomination @realDonaldTrump has ever made. I had the chance to work closely with @AGPamBondi on the Deepwater Horizon and appreciate her resolve for getting it right.”

On November 23, 2024, Graves commented on another appointment by President Trump involving a colleague from the Transportation Committee moving to a cabinet position. While expressing optimism about America’s gain from this move, he humorously noted that it might be an excuse to avoid a dinner engagement: “Another great Transportation Committee colleague headed to @realDonaldTrump cabinet. Though Oregon will lose her, it’s America’s gain. I just hope this isn’t an elaborate effort to get out of the dinner she owes me.”
