LSU track and field athlete Princesse Hyman was named Women’s Field Athlete of the Week by the Southeastern Conference on April 28.
This recognition highlights Hyman’s achievements in discus throw during the outdoor season. The award marks her second honor from the SEC this season, with her first coming on March 24.
Hyman, a sophomore specializing in discus, secured another victory with a throw measuring 59.38 meters (194-9) at Alumni Gold. This performance continues to demonstrate her consistency and skill in collegiate competition.
Currently, Hyman holds the No. 4 ranking nationally in the NCAA and is ranked No. 3 within the SEC based on her personal record of 59.90 meters. Her recent throw of 59.38 meters would also place among top performances—No. 6 in the NCAA and No. 4 in the SEC—if not for her earlier season-best mark.
The recognition from the Southeastern Conference reflects Hyman’s ongoing impact as part of LSU’s track and field program.
