The No. 10 LSU women’s tennis team will host two major Southeastern Conference matchups at the LSU Tennis Complex, facing No. 7 Texas on March 27 at 5:00 p.m. Central Time and No. 3 Texas A&M on March 29 at noon.
These matches are significant as they bring together some of the highest-ranked teams in collegiate women’s tennis, providing an opportunity for fans to see elite competition free of charge, with attendees required to follow the university’s clear-bag policy.
LSU enters these contests with a season record of 12-5 and has secured the doubles point in ten matches so far. The Tigers have achieved a singles record of 47-22 and a doubles mark of 25-16 this season. The roster features four nationally ranked singles players—Kayla Cross (No. 45), Cadence Brace (No. 58), Ella McDonald (No. 88), and Kinaa Graham (No.104)—and two ranked doubles pairings: Cross/McDonald (No.11) and Kenna Erickson/McDonald (No.65).
Recent performances include a sweep over Missouri in Columbia and a home win against No.12 Vanderbilt after three away games, reflecting strong form for the Tigers as they return home for these key fixtures.
Several players have contributed notable individual results this season: Cross holds an undefeated singles record; Brace has claimed five wins at the top spot; McDonald clinched victory against Florida’s Gabia Paskauskas; Lanton leads freshmen with an eleven-win singles campaign; Kuhl was named SEC Freshman of the Week after ITA Kickoff Weekend; Graham earned three singles wins including one over Auburn’s Ava Esposito.
Texas brings a strong lineup with Carmen Andreea Herea leading national rankings in singles, along with several other ranked individuals and pairs under head coach Howard Joffe’s leadership in his tenth year with the program.
Texas A&M is also highly ranked, boasting multiple nationally recognized players under head coach Mark Weaver’s guidance during his eleventh season.
