LSU’s women’s basketball team secured a 91-72 win over Oklahoma on Sunday at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman. The game marked Oklahoma’s first sold-out crowd since 2009.

The victory is LSU’s third consecutive conference win, bringing its overall record to 17-2 and its SEC record to 3-2. Oklahoma, now with three straight losses, falls to 14-4 overall and 2-3 in league play.

Senior Flau’jae Johnson led LSU with a double-double, recording 10 rebounds, three assists, one steal, and three blocks. Sophomore Jada Richard scored a career-high 21 points along with five rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

Additional double-digit scoring came from freshman Grace Knox (13 points), junior Mikaylah Williams (10 points), and junior MiLaysia Fulwiley (12 points).

LSU was effective at the free throw line, making 29 of their 33 attempts for an accuracy rate of nearly 88 percent. In contrast, Oklahoma made eight out of twelve free throws and did not attempt any until the third quarter.

Oklahoma started strong with an early lead following several three-pointers and a layup by center Raegan Beers. LSU responded with a nine-point run to tie the game before pulling ahead late in the first quarter.

By halftime, LSU led by ten points after converting eleven out of fourteen free throws while Oklahoma had yet to take any shots from the line. Johnson had scored fifteen points by the break.

In the third quarter, Oklahoma narrowed LSU’s lead to five points before LSU extended it again through a series of scoring runs. By the end of the third period, LSU held an eighteen-point advantage.

The Tigers increased their lead to as much as twenty-four in the fourth quarter before finishing with a nineteen-point margin over Oklahoma.

LSU will next face Texas A&M on Thursday at Reed Arena in Bryan-College Station. The game is scheduled for an 8 p.m. CT start on SEC Network. Fans can also listen via the LSU Sports Radio Network with Patrick Wright and Shaeeta Williams providing commentary.
