The LSU track and field team is making its first outdoor road trip of the season as it heads to Miami for the Hurricane Invitational at Cobb Stadium, according to a March 26 announcement. The event will take place on Friday and Saturday, with competition beginning Friday at 10:00 a.m. Central Time.

This meet marks an important step in the Tigers’ outdoor campaign, providing opportunities for athletes to build on early-season performances and compete against teams such as Nebraska, Georgia, Michigan, Penn., Miami (Fla.), FIU, Eastern Michigan, and Central Michigan.

LSU will have 63 entries across various events during the weekend. On Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m., attention will focus on the women’s discus throw where Princesse Hyman leads a group that recently set personal bests at the LSU Opener. Hyman holds the school record with a throw of 59.90 meters (196-6).

Friday evening’s women’s 300-meter race will see Shawnti Jackson make her debut representing LSU after sitting out the indoor season. Jackson brings strong credentials with personal bests of 10.89 seconds in the 100 meters and other notable times in sprint events.

Saturday’s schedule features Jack Larrivierre in men’s javelin after his winning mark of 73.54 meters during the outdoor opener. The women’s relay team aims to improve upon their nation-leading time from earlier this season when they compete in the 4×100-meter relay at noon Saturday.

The meet concludes with highly anticipated sprints including heat one of the men’s 100 meter race featuring Jaiden Reid and Myles Thomas—Thomas having recently clocked a nation-leading time of 10.14 seconds.
