No. 20 LSU will host No. 5/3 Oklahoma in a three-game softball series beginning March 27 at Tiger Park, according to a March 26 announcement. This marks the first time the two teams meet as Southeastern Conference opponents.

The matchup is significant as it continues LSU’s challenging stretch against nationally ranked programs and offers an opportunity for the Tigers to break their current losing streak against Oklahoma. The Tigers trail the Sooners in the all-time series but have won more games when playing in Baton Rouge.

The series will open Friday night with coverage by Lyn Rollins and Yvette Girouard on SEC Network+. Saturday and Sunday games will be broadcast on SEC Network and ESPN, respectively, with Roy Philpott and Michele Smith providing commentary. Radio coverage will be available through affiliates of the LSU Sports Radio Network, including Talk 107.3 FM in Baton Rouge, streaming live at LSUsports.net/live, and via mobile apps.

LSU enters the weekend after winning four of its last five games, including Coach Beth Torina’s milestone 600th victory as an LSU Tiger earlier this week against Louisiana Tech. The team holds a .262 batting average with strong performances from Sierra Daniel and Jalia Lassiter at the plate, while pitchers Jayden Heavener, Cece Cellura, Tatum Clopton, Paytn Monticelli, Cali Deal, and Ashlin Mowery have all contributed to six shutouts this season.

Oklahoma comes into Baton Rouge riding a 21-game winning streak after sweeping Auburn and Ole Miss to start conference play. The Sooners lead Division I softball offensively with high marks in batting average (.442), hits (418), home runs (129), RBI (420), runs (430), and walks (178). Standout players include Kai Minor—who leads the SEC with a .505 batting average—and Kendall Wells who tops national charts for home runs.

The upcoming series is expected to draw attention from fans following both teams’ recent successes. For updates on LSU softball throughout the weekend, fans are encouraged to visit www.lsusports.net/softball or follow @lsusoftball on social media.
