LSU women’s track and field has announced the signing of sprinter Maimuna Jallow, according to Head Coach Dennis Shaver. Jallow, currently a standout at Cloud County Community College, is set to join LSU as a junior for the 2026-27 season.
During her freshman year at Cloud County in 2025, Jallow won gold medals in the 100 meter, 200 meter, and 4×400-meter relay events at the NJCAA Outdoor Championships. She also claimed victories in the 60 meter, 200 meter, and 4×400-meter relay during the indoor championships.
Before competing in the United States, Jallow represented Team Gambia at the African Athletics Championships in 2022 and earned a bronze medal in the 4×100-meter relay.
Jallow’s personal bests include times of 7.19 seconds in the 60 meters, which stands as an NJCAA record; 11.18 seconds in the 100 meters; and 22.86 seconds in the 200 meters. Her time of 11.37 seconds is recognized as Guyana’s national U20 record for the 100 meters. Both her 100m and 200m marks are among the top five performances in NJCAA history.
Coach Dennis Shaver stated: “The LSU women’s track and field program is signing sprinter Maimuna Jallow.”
