The LSU men’s tennis team, ranked No. 17, will begin play in the ITA National Indoor Team Championships on Friday, February 13. The Tigers are set to face No. 5 TCU at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center at 9:00 a.m. CT.
LSU advanced to this stage after victories over No. 16 Arizona and No. 22 Pepperdine during the ITA Kickoff Weekend two weeks ago. They defeated Arizona 4-3 and Pepperdine 4-2, securing their first appearance in the ITA National Indoor Team Championships since 2006.
Currently undefeated with a record of 7-0, LSU is experiencing its best season start since 2021. TCU holds a record of 7-1, with its only loss coming against top-ranked Virginia. In past meetings between LSU and TCU, the Horned Frogs lead the series with a record of 13-6; their last encounter was in 2016.
The winner of Friday’s match will advance to play either No. 7 Texas or No. 8 Texas A&M on Saturday at noon. Semifinal matches are scheduled for Monday, February 16 at SMU’s Altec Tennis Complex, followed by the championship match on Tuesday, February 17. Danny Bryan, now in his fourth year as head coach and a former Tiger All-American, will be leading LSU into this tournament for the first time in his tenure—and it marks LSU’s first appearance since 2006. The team features freshmen Olaf Pieczkowski and Erik Arutiunian in the top singles spots as they look to maintain their unbeaten streak.
So far this season, LSU has posted a combined singles record of 31-10 and a doubles record of 14-2. The team has also secured the doubles point in every match played.
With this tournament marking their return to the national top-25 rankings after two years, LSU will have an opportunity to test themselves against some of college tennis’ strongest programs ahead of conference competition.
