The LSU Gymnastics team was selected as the No. 2 seed for the 2026 NCAA Gymnastics Championships, securing their 41st consecutive regional berth, according to a March 23 announcement. The Tigers will begin their postseason at home in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Thursday, April 2.

This selection marks LSU’s continued presence among top collegiate gymnastics programs and offers fans in Baton Rouge an opportunity to see national-level competition locally.

LSU is joined by Stanford (No. 7), Michigan (No. 10), and Clemson (No. 15) as national seeds competing in the Baton Rouge Regional. Additional teams traveling to Louisiana include Auburn, North Carolina, Utah State, Air Force, and Nebraska. This year’s berth represents LSU’s 43rd overall appearance in postseason play; the program has made it to the NCAA Championships on 34 occasions and won fifteen NCAA Regional championships.

All nine Southeastern Conference teams are among the thirty-six set for this year’s championship field, with eight earning national seeds: Oklahoma (No.1), LSU (No.2), Florida (No.3), Georgia (No.6), Missouri (No.8), Arkansas (No.9), Kentucky (No.16). The top thirty-six teams were chosen based on National Qualifying Score; sixteen were seeded nationally while others were assigned regionally at one of four sites: LSU, Kentucky, Oregon State or Arizona State.

Regional competitions can be watched live on ESPN+. In Baton Rouge, second round action begins Thursday evening with No.2 LSU facing Clemson, Auburn and either Air Force or Nebraska—who meet Wednesday afternoon—in Session II at 7 p.m., while Stanford faces Michigan, North Carolina and Utah State earlier that day at 1 p.m.. Top two teams from each session advance to Saturday’s final; those winners move on to nationals April 16-18 in Fort Worth.

National semifinals will air April 16 on ESPN2; finals broadcast live April 18 at noon Central Time on ABC.
