LSU head coach Kim Mulkey announced on Apr. 25 the hiring of Murriel Page, finalizing the women’s basketball coaching staff for the upcoming season.

The addition of Page is expected to strengthen LSU’s program, bringing extensive experience from her time as both a player and coach at various levels. Mulkey said, “Murriel brings a tremendous wealth of experience to LSU and embodies professionalism in every sense. Our student-athletes will greatly benefit from her perspective as both a player and coach at the highest levels of the game. Her experience with the Canadian National Team adds an invaluable dimension, and she is highly respected on the recruiting trail. We’re thrilled to welcome her to LSU.”

Page has played 11 seasons in the Women’s National Basketball Association before beginning her collegiate coaching career in 2010. Most recently, she worked at Miami where she contributed to a Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament berth in 2026 and helped develop an All-ACC First Team post player.

Before joining Miami, Page coached at Mississippi State for two years where she supported two wins in the 2023 NCAA Tournament and worked closely with two All-Southeastern Conference honorees—one of whom was selected twenty-third overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft. She also played a key role in signing Mississippi State’s sixteenth-ranked recruiting class nationally for 2023.

Page served as an assistant coach for Canada’s Senior Women’s National Team during her time away from college basketball, specializing in post players while training for international competitions including FIBA Women’s AmeriCup.

Her previous roles include assistant positions at Georgia Tech—where she reached the Sweet Sixteen—and Central Michigan University, helping secure conference championships and NCAA tournament appearances. As a player herself, Page earned multiple honors at Florida before being drafted third overall by Washington Mystics in 1998.
