The LSU Tigers men’s baseball team announced on April 20 their latest game results, player updates, and upcoming schedule as the season progresses.
The report provides an overview of the team’s performance, highlighting both individual achievements and collective efforts. LSU holds an overall record of 23 wins and 18 losses, with a Southeastern Conference (SEC) record of 6-12.
Last week, the Tigers secured a win against Northwestern State but dropped three consecutive games to Texas A&M. The team’s next matchups include a home game against New Orleans on April 21 and a series at Mississippi State from April 24 to April 26.
Junior shortstop Steven Milam continues his strong performance with an active streak of reaching base safely in eighteen straight games. He also maintains a seven-game hitting streak and has committed only one error all season in 145 chances, resulting in a .993 fielding percentage. Milam is ranked seventh in the SEC for at-bats and ninth for times hit by pitch.
Sophomore right-hander Deven Sheerin delivered his longest outing for LSU during Sunday’s game against Texas A&M, pitching over four innings with nine strikeouts while allowing just one run. For the week, Sheerin appeared twice, totaling six innings pitched without giving up more than one run or issuing any walks. He currently leads the team with a 2.84 earned run average (ERA) across twenty-five innings this season.
Other notable performances include junior rightfielder Jake Brown leading the team with sixteen home runs and forty-nine runs batted in (RBI), placing him among SEC leaders in both categories. Sophomore centerfielder Derek Curiel tops LSU’s batting average at .354 while ranking third in base hits within the conference.
The bullpen collectively recorded an ERA of 3.21 over fourteen innings last weekend versus Texas A&M, holding opponents to five runs on eleven hits while accumulating twenty-five strikeouts.
