The LSU Tigers men’s baseball team announced on April 6 that it holds an overall record of 22-11 and a Southeastern Conference (SEC) record of 6-6, following a successful week that included a series victory against Tennessee.
The update highlights recent performances and key achievements as the Tigers prepare for upcoming games. These results are important as they reflect the team’s resilience in overcoming deficits and maintaining competitiveness within the SEC.
Last week, LSU posted three wins out of four games. The team defeated Southern with a score of 16-6 in seven innings, won two out of three games at Tennessee—including a decisive 16-6 victory in extra innings—and suffered one loss during the series. Catcher/designated hitter Cade Arrambide led the way by batting .600 over three games, hitting four home runs in Sunday’s game to set an LSU single-game record. Arrambide became only the fourth player in SEC history to hit four homers in one game. He finished that day going five-for-six with seven runs batted in, including three solo home runs and a grand slam during LSU’s ten-run twelfth inning.
Other notable performances included centerfielder Derek Curiel hitting .500 across four games with two home runs and nine RBI, while shortstop Steven Milam contributed three homers last week. On the pitching side, right-hander Zac Cowan limited Tennessee to two unearned runs over four innings on Sunday without allowing any walks; Gavin Guidry earned his first relief win with his longest career outing; Deven Sheerin recorded his second save Friday night.
The Tigers have shown strong comeback ability recently, recovering from deficits of at least three runs—including rallying from being down seven against Kentucky for their largest comeback since May 24, 2024.
Looking ahead, LSU is scheduled to face Bethune-Cookman at home before traveling to Ole Miss for a weekend series. In national rankings released April 6, D1Baseball placed LSU at number twenty-four.
