DOWNERS GROVE, ILL. – The Foundation for the Restoration of America (FFROA) awarded a $2,000 scholarship to Louisiana State University Catherine Camden following her completion of the Constitutional Study Program.
Camden is from Shreveport, Louisiana and is currently pursuing a degree in Communications Disorders at Louisiana State University.
“I found the complexity of the issues around the Constitution and the way it challenged my preexisting beliefs to be of most interest to me,” Camden noted while reflecting on the program courses. “When learning in this Study Program, I found myself rethinking what my freedom means to me. The right I have to my freedom is something I often take for granted.”
Camden also shared how the Constitutional Study Program taught her not only academically but in application to preserve the nation’s founding ideals and spirit.
“I believe the best way to actively preserve freedom in America as an individual is to continually exert my Constitutional rights, continually familiarize myself with global affairs and learn from history,” she continued, “and instill an appreciation for freedom in my future children.”
The Foundation’s Executive Director Christine Altenberger shared her excitement that students like Camden have benefitted from the program.
“I feel confident that Catherine is well equipped to defend her beliefs and the importance of the founding ideals and documents,” said Altenberger. “The Constitutional Study Program encourages students to learn about the principles and documents that formed this great nation,” she continued. “I look forward to hundreds more students learning from the Constitutional Study Program.”
