Rising egg prices getting you down? The West Feliciana Parish Library invites the public to attend an introduction to raising chickens with Dr. Emily Carlson, a veterinarian at the Audubon Veterinary Hospital, on Friday, March 24, from 5:30-6:30 at West Feliciana Parish Library in St. Francisville.
Dr. Emily Carlson will provide participants with an overview of the basics of raising chickens for eggs. With egg prices rising in grocery stores, it may seem sensible to purchase chicks to raise for egg production. Dr. Carlson is here to help you decide if backyard chicken husbandry is right for you and your family.
This introductory lecture is geared toward adults who are interested in raising chickens but don’t know where to start or are wondering if chickens are financially or practically the right choice for them.
