Baton Rouge, La. (January 4, 2023) – The Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) today announced that David Mullens will serve as chair of the board for the organization in 2023. Mullens is the current Market President and Section Manager for North & Southwest Louisiana and Arkansas at Capital One.

“David has been a consistent source of guidance during his years of service to BRAC,” said Adam Knapp, president and CEO of BRAC. “His background in banking and finance has been a welcome addition to our operations and investor development committees, and to be frank, his leadership was instrumental during the pandemic as we navigated uncertain fiscal times, and his sound advice ushered us into one of our most prosperous times. David’s counsel, dedication, and energy will be a great asset as we dive deeper into the goals of our five-year strategic plan.”

Mullens has served the Baton Rouge community in a variety of roles on boards and committees, including Rotary, Boys & Girls Club of Metro Louisiana, Mid City Redevelopment Alliance, plus more.

“I am honored to fill the role of Chairperson of the 2023 BRAC Board of Directors. I have seen firsthand how impactful BRAC has been on moving opportunities forward and organizing around meeting challenges in the nine parishes we serve,” said David Mullens. “I grew up in Baton Rouge and made a conscious choice to stay here because of the community culture and the opportunities I saw for myself. My goal for 2023 is to elevate and accelerate BRAC’s BRING IT! strategic plan so others with a similar choice can see the opportunities before them.”

Mullens succeeds Helena Cunningham, CEO of National Housing Consulting Services, who served as BRAC board chair in 2022.
